History of Art Ph.D.

The Doctor of Philosophy in History of Art at the University of York is an ambitious and rewarding program that focuses on understanding and interpreting works of art and material culture from various different periods, geographies, and cultures. This four-year degree provides students with a comprehensive education in topics such as art history, visual culture, and cultural heritage.
