The Doctor of Philosophy in English with Creative Writing at the University of York provides students with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education in both literary studies and creative writing. The program is unique in its focus on both theory and practice, as it combines coursework on aspects of literature such as postcolonialism, linguistics, and critical theory with hands-on experience in writing across multiple genres including fiction, poetry, nonfiction, drama, and screenwriting.
