Criminology with Sociology

Criminology is a subject with a strong history in the UK and the subject is also gaining increasing popularity in Europe. Criminology is concerned with the causes of crime, and the effects of different types of punishment. Criminology is a discipline that is very much concerned with society, the law and the individual. Criminologists study the criminal, the victim and the offender, and the social, political and economic factors that may contribute to crime and to the imposition and enforcement of punitive measures on offenders.
