The Department of Classical Studies at the University of Liverpool is the oldest and most comprehensive classical studies department in the UK. It is a leading centre for the study of classical antiquity in the UK. The department is known for its extensive teaching resources, which include a complete edition of Pliny's letters and books, and the original manuscripts, on which many of the ancient texts are written, such as the letters of Pliny the Younger.
