The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy/Politics (Equal) at the University of York is an innovative program designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of philosophy and politics. This three-year degree combines rigorous coursework in both disciplines, equipping students with the skills and knowledge to think critically about political phenomena as well as ethical and philosophical issues. Through a combination of lectures, seminars, and tutorials, students will cover topics such as political theory, ethics, international relations, comparative politics, and philosophical approaches to contemporary problems. The program also features optional modules that provide an opportunity for students to pursue their own interests and explore new areas within philosophy and politics. Graduates from this program will have acquired the intellectual tools necessary for successful careers in politics, public policy analysis, law, or research while also having developed an appreciation for the importance of ethical considerations in decisions made by government.
