The Bachelor of Arts in Languages and Cultures (French and German) (with a year abroad) at the University of York is an innovative program that provides students with the opportunity to develop their fluency in two languages while gaining a deep understanding of both the French and German cultures. This 4-year degree combines coursework in both languages with hands-on experience through a year abroad in France or Germany, giving students the chance to immerse themselves in a new culture and perfect their language skills. In addition to developing fluency, students will also gain comprehensive knowledge of both cultures, learning about their history, literature, art, music, film, politics, economics and more. Graduates from this program are well-prepared for careers in international relations, education, media & communications or government services; they may also pursue further studies leading towards advanced degrees such as Master's programs allowing them to become experts within their chosen field while making meaningful contributions towards global development.
