The Master of Arts in International Political Economy (IPE) at the University of York is an innovative program that provides students with a critical understanding of global political and economic issues. Through a combination of coursework and research, students are exposed to a range of theoretical and methodological approaches including Marxism, Structuralism, post-structuralism, feminism, and complexity theory to critically analyze global political economy. The program also explores topical issues such as inequality and poverty, human migration and trade agreements, to provide an in-depth examination of the dynamics between power, politics, and economics in international relations. This two-year degree will equip graduates with the analytical tools needed to make meaningful contributions to addressing global socioeconomic challenges. With a focus on critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities, this program is ideal for those who want to work in research or policy positions within government organizations or NGOs dealing with international economic issues.
