The Bachelor of Arts in History of Art with a Language (with a Year Abroad) at the University of York is an innovative program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the history and practice of art, design, and visual culture while also giving them the opportunity to gain fluency in an additional language. This four-year degree provides students with comprehensive coursework on topics such as art history, aesthetics, and visual culture while also allowing them to develop their linguistic skills through courses in either French, German, Spanish, or Italian. The program also features a year abroad in one of these languages during which students can apply their knowledge to more immersive experiences such as internships or research projects. Graduates from this program will be well-equipped for careers across multiple industries including curatorship; museums & galleries; publishing & media; consultancy services; or public administration.
