The Master of Arts in Cultural Heritage Management at the University of York is a unique program that provides an interdisciplinary approach to heritage management. The program combines the study of law, economics, and policy in order to equip students with the skills necessary to manage and protect cultural heritage. The duration of the program is one year and during that time, students will engage with a wide range of topics such as museum studies, conservation science, tourism management, archaeological site management, and more. Students will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience through field trips and internships with local heritage organizations. The program also has a network of international partners which provides students with access to exciting opportunities abroad. Graduates from this program are well-prepared for careers in museums, archaeological sites, historic archives or government organizations while being able to make meaningful contributions towards preserving our cultural heritage for future generations.
