Engineering Geology

The University of Portsmouth offers a range of engineering and science degree courses, including the MSc in Engineering Geology, an exciting new course for geologists and geophysicists. This course combines a solid grounding in geology and geophysics with a deep study in engineering and geosciences. Geology is one of the oldest sciences and has seen considerable advances since its inception, not least advances in geophysics. The field of engineering is as old as geology itself. However, the discipline has developed as an interdisciplinary science, drawing on the natural sciences, mathematics and social sciences, and the fields of engineering are now broad to allow their practitioners to develop a wide range of different skills.
