Politics and Contemporary History

The University of Chichester offers a unique and original degree course in Politics and Contemporary History. The degree has been awarded to its first student in 2012 and is a fully taught degree within the University. It is available to all undergraduate students and provides an excellent foundation for a career in politics, campaigning, journalism, public relations, or historical interpretation. The Department has been involved in major historical debates in recent years, including the Balfour Declaration, the role of the state in a digital world and the impact of the internet on 21st century politics. The department also offers a variety of research modules in the History and Philosophy of the Media, Contemporary British History and Contemporary Political Theory.
