The University of Edinburgh, the oldest university in Scotland - and the fourth oldest in the UK. It has some of the leading academics in the world, including the four winners of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, as well as the winners of the Turing Award, the Priestley Medal, the Hughes Medal, the Crafoord Prize, and the Wolf Prize. Edinburgh's most famous alumnus is probably Sir Angus Galbraith, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery of C60.
