French and English Literature

The Department of French and English Studies is based in the School of Humanities and Philosophy at The University of Edinburgh. Our courses in English Literature and French Literature are designed to meet the needs of students. They include a range of courses in both prose and poetry of the English-speaking world, from the period of the Renaissance to the present day.
