Environment, Culture and Society

The School of Informatics is pleased to offer a course in Environment, Culture and Society, a unique and innovative PhD. This program is focused on the interdisciplinary study of culture and society in the context of environmental change and sustainability. The degree is designed to provide the student with a broad knowledge of the culture of the UK, the UK's role in global society, and the theoretical and policy context in which environmental issues are framed. The program provides the student with the skills and understanding to respond effectively to new and emerging issues and to work effectively within complex, challenging and often controversial societal, political and cultural contexts.
