Biological Sciences (Biochemistry)

The University of Edinburgh offers a wide range of undergraduate programs in the Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) department. Biochemistry is one of the oldest branches of science with roots in the nineteenth century. Today the area has expanded to embrace the study of proteins and their interactions with DNA and other molecules. In the twentieth century there was a major expansion with the development of the biotechnology industry and the emergence of research into genetic engineering.
