The Public Health and Health Promotion MSc at Robert Gordon University (RGU) Aberdeen offers an exciting opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in public health and health promotion. This one-year program provides a comprehensive introduction to the field, focusing on the public health issues that are relevant to populations in both developed and developing countries. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the principles of public health and health promotion, including epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, health promotion, policy and practice. Through a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops, and fieldwork, students will gain an appreciation for the complexities of public health and health promotion. Upon completion of the program, students will have the necessary skills to work in a variety of settings, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private sector organizations.
Applicants normally hold a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree or its equivalent in any subject discipline.
Applicants will be required to provide a Personal Statement in support of their application which demonstrates their understanding of the course and the relevance to their future plans.
Applicants who do not meet the standard entry qualifications, but do have a professional qualification, combined with a minimum of two years relevant work experience, may be considered on a case by case basis. In such cases applicants will be called for an interview as part of the admission process.
Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5, or an equivalent.
