Pharmacists work in both community and hospital care settings. They are involved in the assessment of drug use, the supply of drugs, the prescribing and monitoring of patients' drug therapy. Pharmacists are responsible for the safety and efficacy of drugs and play a key role in the monitoring and evaluation of drug safety and efficacy in their area. They work in close partnership with the general medical practitioner and the other health professionals.
