The Department of Education was established in 1992 in response to the development of the UK's new curriculum for school students. The Department is the largest at Newcastle University, and offers the widest range of courses of any department in the School of Education. It has its own research centre and is at the heart of the internationally recognised Newcastle Centre for Lifelong Learning.
