Biomedical Engineering with Foundation Year

Biomedical engineering has a broad and long history in the UK: from the foundations of engineering in medicine in the late nineteenth century, the development of engineering in medicine, biomedical engineering and the study of health and wellbeing. In recent years it has been recognised as a distinct discipline in its own right, with professional organisations and publications. The University of Manchester has one of the largest biomedical and bioengineering departments in the UK, with over 300 students.
