The International Relations and Media and Communication (IRMC) with Foundation Year (PRISM) provides students with a strong foundation in global media issues and communication research. The course will also prepare students for the PRISM Foundation year program, leading to an MA in International Relations and Media and Communication. The PRISM course will help students develop an understanding of the complex political, social and cultural issues that are a defining feature of 21st-century communications. It will also provide the basis for studying a wide range of additional topics related to modern communication and international relations, such as the media's relationship with the arts, the political economy of communication, and the politics of information. This course will provide students with the practical experience required to advance research and practice in the field of modern communication, international relations and public policy, and will equip students with the conceptual and practical tools to critically debate issues at the nexus of culture, communication and politics.
