History and Philosophy (Study Abroad)

The Department of History and Philosophy at Lancaster University offers two undergraduate degrees, one in History and the other in Philosophy, both of which are awarded with the BA (Hons) degree. The undergraduate degree program in History is a top one offered in the UK which aims to cover all aspects of European, Middle Eastern and East Asian history, with a particular interest in the modern period. Students may also take two optional modules in the history of philosophy, the history of science, and the history of the book. It is a challenging course, but one in which the student is encouraged to develop skills in critical analysis, as well as to engage with the historical and philosophical issues which underlie many areas of contemporary life.
