The School of Midwifery offers the unique opportunity for students to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree in midwifery through the BSc(Hons) Midwifery degree program. The course is designed to provide an in-depth study of all aspects of midwifery, including: the social, cultural and ethical contexts of the profession, health policy and the delivery of maternal and child health services; theories of childbirth and infant care; maternal and child physiology; anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the reproductive system; physiology, psychology and behaviour of the mother; anatomy, physiology and biochemistry of the foetus and infant; clinical skills and knowledge; practice and assessment; and research methods.
