Sports Coaching BSc (Hons)

Do you have an interest in performance analysis, programming, and strength and conditioning? Would you like to acquire the skills to become a coach at the local, national, or international level? Our sports coaching degree has been endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), ensuring that you will work to the highest professional standards. Your CIMSPA student membership will grant you access to a range of resources, including guest lectures and work placement opportunities.

As part of your assessments and research projects, you will have the freedom to choose an area of study that fascinates you the most. Specialise in sports coaching in education, coaching with children, young people, and adults, or coaching community and performance sports. Our program offers a practical and hands-on approach to learning, giving you the opportunity to gain real-world experience.

Our Department of Sport and Physical Activity provides excellent facilities, including specialist laboratories and a sports therapy clinic. We also have football, rugby, and hockey pitches, tennis courts, an athletics track and field, a swimming pool, and a fitness suite, as well as strength and conditioning within the laboratories. You'll also have access to the performance analysis laboratory, indoor sports halls, and gymnasiums, all of which will aid you in preparing for your desired career.
