Social work can be challenging, yet fulfilling. As a social worker, you’ll face diverse challenges every day, helping individuals with complex needs and working in different communities. Our social work course, delivered in partnership with the Cheshire & Merseyside Social Work Teaching Partnership, prepares you for a career in your preferred field, whether it’s supporting families and children or adult social work, including mental health.
We'll equip you with essential skills for communicating and empathising with individuals from diverse backgrounds in multidisciplinary settings common in modern social work practice. You'll also complete 30 on-campus skills development days over three years to improve your practical skills.
Our team of qualified and registered social workers, including approved mental health practitioners, will guide you through the programme. You'll hear about their experiences and learn from their expertise about interventions, perspectives, and settings. The programme is based on Social Work England’s professional standards for social work education and training, and it also adheres to the British Association of Social Work’s Code of Ethics and other requirements. After graduation, you can register with Social Work England to practice as a social worker.
