Secondary Science (Biology) with QTS (11-16) PGCE

Gain a deep understanding of the latest developments in biology and develop your skills in practical experimentation and data analysis. Our course is designed to help you spark your students’ curiosity and enhance their critical thinking and analytical skills. You'll also learn how to teach chemistry and physics at key stage 3.

Through a combination of classroom learning and practical experience, including a 26-week placement in a school setting, you will develop your lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching methodologies. You will receive guidance and support from experienced tutors and school-based mentors who are committed to helping you succeed.

At the end of the programme, you will be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and equipped with the skills and knowledge to become an excellent biology teacher. We also offer a free subject knowledge enhancement course, tailored to your individual needs, to help you refresh or boost your knowledge in biology and prepare you for teaching learners aged 11-16 years.
