Secondary Religious Education with QTS (11-16) PGCE

Are you passionate about educating young minds on the diversity of the world's beliefs and perspectives? Our PGCE Secondary Religious Education program will equip you with the necessary academic skills and teaching techniques to inspire your students.

Combining classroom learning with practical experience, our program offers 26 weeks of placement in school settings, providing you with opportunities to plan and deliver RE lessons and develop your teaching skills. Throughout the program, you will receive guidance and support from subject-specific tutors and school-based mentors, who will help you achieve your potential as an outstanding RE teacher.

As you explore contemporary teaching styles and methods, you'll deepen your knowledge of the subject matter, including the beliefs, practices, and texts of all major world faiths, as well as philosophical arguments. You'll also have the chance to meet and connect with members of traditional faith communities, as well as representatives from Humanism and Veganism, further broadening your understanding of different worldviews.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and equipped with the necessary skills to become a successful RE teacher. Additionally, our free subject knowledge enhancement course is available for those wishing to boost or refresh their subject knowledge in Religious Education.
