Secondary Mathematics with QTS (11-16) PGCE

Our PGCE Secondary Mathematics program will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to become a successful mathematics teacher. Our expert tutors will guide you through the latest curriculum requirements, enhancing your subject knowledge and teaching with technology skills.

With 26 weeks of practical experience in the classroom, you will have ample opportunity to test out different teaching approaches and refine your lesson planning and learning strategies. Our program will prepare you not only to master the subject matter but also to manage a classroom effectively and assess your students' progress.

At Edge Hill, we understand that training as a teacher can be challenging but equally rewarding. We'll support you every step of the way, providing you with a Personal Tutor and an assigned mentor at your placement school. Throughout the course, you'll have the chance to reflect on your experiences and work towards becoming the best teacher you can be.

Successful completion of the program will lead to a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). If you need to boost or refresh your subject knowledge in mathematics, our free subject knowledge enhancement course will prepare you to teach both the conceptual and applied aspects of mathematics effectively to learners aged 11-16 years.
