Secondary Mathematics Education with QTS BSc (Hons)

Are you passionate about mathematics and want to help young learners understand the subject better? Our PGCE Secondary Mathematics course at Edge Hill will equip you with the skills and knowledge to become an outstanding maths teacher.

Our program covers a range of mathematical branches, including calculus, linear algebra, inferential statistics, and statistical modelling. You will also learn about educational theories, policies, and modern teaching methods. With hands-on experience in the classroom, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver lessons, reflecting on your work and continuously improving your teaching skills.

During your school placements, you will work alongside experienced tutors at Edge Hill and expert teachers in your placement schools. You will receive guidance and support every step of the way, as you take your first steps towards becoming a qualified teacher.

Successful completion of this course leads to a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), allowing you to embark on a rewarding career as a maths teacher.
