Secondary Geography with QTS (11-16) PGCE

This PGCE programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to be an outstanding geography teacher. You'll explore innovative approaches to geography education and learn how to engage your pupils with your passion for the subject. With a focus on the latest teaching methods and a strong emphasis on hands-on experience, you'll develop reflective and analytical skills, boost your own subject knowledge, and learn how to create effective lesson plans that inspire and motivate your pupils.

You'll also have the opportunity to develop your RE and history subject knowledge so you can teach key stage 3 humanities. During your placement, you'll work alongside your geography tutor and school-based mentor to apply your university learning to your own teaching and receive support whenever you need it. Successful completion of the programme leads to recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
