In today’s world, digital literacy is an essential skill for young people. Starting to learn these skills in school is crucial to set them up for success in their future careers. As a result, there is a new focus on computing education in schools and a growing interest in computer technology like the Raspberry Pi and Codebug.
If you’re interested in becoming a computing teacher, now is the perfect time to start your training. Our teacher training programme will equip you with the skills and knowledge to teach all aspects of computing, including computer science, digital literacy, and information technology. You’ll have access to the latest specialist software and tools to support your learning.
As you train to become a teacher of computing, you’ll explore a range of important questions. How do you create lesson plans that engage and motivate your students? What are the current challenges facing secondary education? How can you continue to develop your own computer science expertise throughout your career?
In addition to developing your subject knowledge and teaching skills, you’ll also learn to lead in the classroom. During your placement, you’ll work closely with your computing tutor and school-based mentor to apply your learning to your teaching practice.
Successful completion of our programme leads to recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). And if you need to boost or refresh your subject knowledge in computing, we offer a free subject knowledge enhancement course tailored to your individual needs. With our teacher training programme, you’ll be ready to inspire the next generation of digital natives.
