Explore the role of religion in the world by asking important questions and examining major global faiths in various social and cultural contexts with our BA (Hons) Religion degree. You'll focus on people's experiences of their beliefs, studying the philosophies and practices of different religions. In addition, you'll delve into religious and non-religious spirituality of new and old faith movements, including unconventional readings of religion, such as witchcraft, paganism and mysticism.
Through this degree, you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of religious traditions and their impact at local, national, and global levels. Our program uses research-informed approaches to explore religion, philosophy and sociology. You'll also examine how people use digital media to express their religious identities.
This inclusive program is suitable for students with or without faith, and will encourage you to engage with the world by exploring faith from individual and collective perspectives. You'll learn about belief systems through the lenses of family origins, ethnicity, and disability, as well as gender, sexuality, and social status.
