Postgraduate Research Pre-Sessional Foundation Degree

The Postgraduate Research Pre-Sessional course at Edge Hill University is tailored for individuals applying for MRes, PhD or Professional Doctorate programs, whose first language is not English, and have an IELTS score that is half a band lower than the standard entry criteria required for their intended postgraduate research program. This course is designed to provide an innovative and comprehensive approach to enhancing academic English skills, with a particular focus on academic writing, as well as introducing key concepts necessary for postgraduate research. The course is delivered in collaboration between the Graduate School and the Language Centre, and offers participants the opportunity to produce a literature review segment in their chosen research area, which can be directly applied to their studies upon completion of the course.
