Our BSc course in Physical Geography and Geology will take you on a journey through Earth's history, starting from its inception to present-day physical and environmental issues and our responses to them. Our course places a strong emphasis on practical field and laboratory work, enabling you to learn fundamental techniques in physical geography and geology. You will gain expertise in geographical information systems (GIS), digital cartography and graphical software packages.
The study of geological features, both present and past, forms the foundation of your learning, and fieldwork destinations across Europe offer an essential component of your degree. Previous destinations have included Cumbria, Edinburgh, Tenerife, and the Scottish Highlands. You will have the opportunity to select subject-specific and complementary modules, tailoring your degree to your interests. Upon completion of this three-year course, you will have honed transferable skills useful for working in public and private sector organisations.
