Bangor University has a reputation for a wide range of research in the areas of Physical Therapy and Exercise Rehabilitation. The Centre for Physical Therapy and Exercise Rehabilitation works closely with a number of medical specialties to provide a wide range of courses and research in the field of exercise rehabilitation.
Exercise and sports science are the interdisciplinary fields that combine the knowledge of exercise physiology with the study of other allied sciences, such as biomechanics, nutrition and sport-specific performance. The role of exercise and sports science is to develop, apply and evaluate the evidence base for exercise and sport activities, including physical rehabilitation, which are essential in the prevention and management of a range of diseases and conditions. In addition it is the science behind injury prevention and rehabilitation.
