The Applied Cyber Security Degree Apprenticeship (BSc Hons) at Bangor University offers a unique approach to earning a degree while remaining employed. Exclusively available to employees, the program combines one day of weekly teaching at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai for the initial two years and at Bangor University for the final year. Developed in collaboration with industry experts, the curriculum aligns with IT sector requirements, encompassing the entire spectrum of Cyber Security. Emphasizing work-based learning, the course equips modern network technicians with skills in Python programming, CISCO CCNA courses, legislation pertaining to computer system management, website security, and advanced topics like Cryptography, Penetration Testing, and Enterprise Java. The option to exit with an FdSc degree after two years adds flexibility. This apprenticeship not only enhances individual knowledge and career prospects but also contributes to the success of the employer. Duration spans three years, with one day and one evening of academic study per week. The initial two years are conducted in Deeside, Wrexham, Rhos-on-sea, or Llangefni, followed by the final year at Bangor University.
